She emigrated with her parents to the United States, where she has lived almost all her life, which immediately became affected with the fever of Elvis’s Rock ’n’ Roll. The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and the beats of Disco/Dance/Electronica as well as the Disco Beats. Shirley remembers when she was a kid she used to compose melodies and rhythms with the pans while her mother was cooking. She is a multifaceted girl. Speaks four languages, English, Hebrew, Farsi, and Spanish. She is altruistic. She is the composer and producer of her music even though she had been offered many deals/proposals from predominant people in the music industry, she decided to launch her own record label, Re-Bel Records because the most important thing for her is to preserve the essence and magic of her music. She also didn’t want to lose control of her own creations. Furthermore she is altruistic. S.L.: One year to write, record/produce it and 2 months later I launched it. I was considering 2 proposals but they where not of my interest so I released the album on my own. P.A.: Did you know from the beginning you were going to produce and put out your album independently? S.L.: Yes. After working with different producers and receiving different offers I chose my favorite producer and together we produced the album. I decided to put it out independently. It made most sense to me to take this route. P.A.: Does a Middle Eastern influence exists in your music? S.L.: Absolutely. I love western music… I was raised in America which really shaped my influence and musical taste of all sorts… commercial and underground but in my blood roam the Middle Eastern influences coming out of me in my melodies and singing. Updates: "Break Free" is the name of her new album. "Daddy Boy" is the single being aired on ABC Radio in Central America. MORE... |
